#HitRefresh – New Chapter – Moving Over to The #Microsoft Cloud Side… Starting on a new Job @itnetx_CH #Switzerland #HackYourCareer

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. ~ Steve Jobs”

Work is an important part of our everyday life. Given that, on average, one probably has to work about 40 to 50 years until retirement, it makes absolutely sense for someone to follow their passion!

In between, you never want to retire if you really love what you do! Find your passion… When you find your passion, you’ll love what you do and be inspired to use your talents in unique ways… The most important part is to make sure you are spending your days doing what you are natural good at, and then you’ll never have to work again…

For the past 10 years, I embarked on a journey with SABIS® Educational Services as an IT Manager, after a short period of time, I took another challenge and I was promoted to Regional IT Technical Manager. During that time, I’ve had the honor to work with great people across the globe, and I’m grateful for the opportunity I was given. I developed and designed complex solutions, I worked on exciting products, and stood at the verge of very exciting times for SABIS®. Admitted: I loved every moment of it. But, all good things come to an end. Despite a great job at SABIS®, and lots of interesting stuff to look forward to, I decided to change the GPS coordinates and steer the ship in the right direction.

~ If you are working in a company and the upper management are thinking, what if you become successful and leave, if they are concerned you are getting too good at what you do, whether by attending extra training, going to seminars, or invest from your personal time and money. If this is where you are right now, then it is probably a sign you are NOT in a healthy environment, and you should start thinking seriously about that. ~

If you have a heart problem and you want the best job done, you go to a heart surgeon and not to your General Practitioner (GP).

Remember if the path you’re walking on seems to be leading you to nowhere, stop and choose another. It’s never too late to change direction and to make a career change even after 10, 20 or 30 years. You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream. If your dreams don’t scare you, they are not big enough! It’s never too late to get started on a new path. Do not let your past, or the opinions of others influence you and hold you back from going after what you truly want. It is best not to reveal your intentions to others, as it triggers reactions in them based on their own obstacles. These obstacles, as others will express them to you, will be heard by your subconscious mind and will become obstacles to you on your own path.

See your job as your craft, no matter what you do… You are the captain of your ship, so steer yourself in the direction of your dreams.

“Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life. ~ Dr. Wayne Dyer”

I am so happy and grateful now that… I am working as Microsoft Cloud Solutions Architect with itnetX AG in Switzerland, one of the top 10 consulting firm worldwide, Microsoft elite partner and the leading System Integrator in Switzerland and Belgium for everything datacenter, cloud, workplace and software. I’m thrilled to be joining the itnetX team of such a dynamic organization during a time of rapid growth, both in the industry and at the company. I feel so honored to be part of such a wonderful organization.

Hybrid Cloud is here to stay… Cloud computing gets a lot of attention, and for good reason: it’s where much of IT is going. But on-premises datacenters also have an important role to play, both today and in the future. For many organizations, integrating these two to create a hybrid cloud is essential. Being a Cloud Solutions Architect will allow me to narrow my focus, maximize my potential and work in different customer projects, which will support to keep my knowledge up-to-date and most important is to put in practice what I have learned, and finally, it enables me to pursue my passion of mine. The only source of knowledge is real world experience!

In the meantime, I won’t sit still of course! I look forward to working with the great team which brings me to itnetX AG (Heart of Bern, Zurich, Lausanne and Temse) – The Cloud Transformation Experts, helping them further grow their Microsoft services practice. I am very proud and grateful to join my fellow MVPs (Marcel Zehner “RD/CTO”, Stefan Roth, Roger Zander, Thomas Maurer, Michael Rüefli, Jonas Feller) and be part of the big itnetX family.

Should you also be interested in working with us, we can help you build a solution that stretches across your datacenter, your private, hybrid and public cloud, you can get in touch by sending your request to info[@]itnetx.ch

I want to thank my new colleagues for the warm welcome!

Aside from all of that, I wrote two books, and I am in the middle of finalizing my third book due later this year. I am also looking forward to speaking at a few conferences later this year! For now, however, I will return, roll up my sleeves and get ready. There is a lot of content that needs to be rewritten, and although it’s all very exciting stuff, things don’t write themselves!
