Reflecting on 2022 and Welcome 2023 – You Were Awesome!

5 Min. Read

As we end another year and prepare for 2023 to start… With a humble and wide-open heart–thank you for following, sharing, and modeling my work (whether via reading my blog posts, tweets, books, video courses, or speaking at events) over these past 12 months.

The last day of the year! This is a good one to reflect on in 2022 and to plan for 2023. What do you want to achieve in 2023? Not only work but also regarding family, health, wealth, friends, hobbies, projects, learning, and so on… You are welcome to share your thoughts in the comment section below.

I’ve taken the habit every year to reflect on the past 12 months, I took some time to gather whatever insights I can and focus on the year ahead. I’m in a reflective mood as I write this article.

Reflecting a bit on the past is often helpful to see how much (or little) you’ve accomplished, and for me, this reflection seems vital in achieving future goals. My targets for 2023 have already been recorded and carefully refined. Clarity precedes mastery, right?

My vision for the New Year has been decoded into game sheets and one-page plans. I’m ready to serve and amped to help. I hope to be an instrument of usefulness to more people. So long as I’m able to.

I will share my goals for 2023 that might be inspiring by the end of this article.

The 2022 Year in Review

I will not be sharing achievements for the past year as I usually do, because I don’t see any value in this and I don’t expect anyone would be really keen to read my summary. If you are interested to learn more about my achievements, you can subscribe and keep following my blog here, where I continuously document my learning journey which might be inspiring.

However, one of four big events for me during 2022 was passing the official and the toughest Information Security Manager (CISM) exam by ISACA.

The second one is publishing my first Microsoft Press Learning course about Azure Networking covering the AZ-700 certification exam.

The third one is doing a live training course covering the new Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect SC-100 exam.

The fourth one is moving to a new home…

In 2022 I was able to redesign my new home/studio office!

Did I achieve the goals that I set for 2022, I can proudly say, Yes!

As we approach the end of a third unique year, our world faced so much upheaval this year.

The current events and inflation have drastically altered the way we work, operate, how we deliver our products and services to our customers and the day-to-day lives of our workforce. The global pandemic has forced the hand of many businesses and transformed those “nice to do” future tasks into immediate necessities.

In these uncertain times, ensuring that you have the right infrastructure and tools, you’re keeping costs down where necessary, and that your increasingly digitized operations are secure, is vitally important.

The cloud is an invaluable resource; whether you’re just getting started or you’re looking to broaden your cloud service portfolio in the future.

Blog Statistics

I started this blog about 8 years ago to share my knowledge and help other people to succeed. Because knowledge is a gift, don’t keep it to yourself, and when sharing your knowledge, you help other people. This is rewarding when you receive a lot of feedback and comments about what you have shared with others is valuable!

I continued my fierce focus on producing blog articles at least once a week. In 2022, I was able to write about 94 articles. It’s educating, challenging – but most of all, fun.

As a blogger focusing on cloud computing and Cybersecurity, it is always fun. The traffic to my blog grew significantly, with more visitors compared to 2021. And in 8 years, my blog hits over 2.6 Million visitors and NOT views with nearly 800 blog posts… Thanks to all my readers, you were awesome!!!

And to thank all my sponsors here: Hornet Security,, Stellar Data Recovery, Astra Security, NAKIVO, and Vembu.

So how do I summarize all of this?

People’s interest in hybrid cloud, cloud security, and the Microsoft Cloud platform, in general, continues to rise more and more. We have secured and migrated several customers to Microsoft Azure and enabled them to move faster to the cloud.

We made it through and now we are more prepared for 2023!

My goals for 2023

My goals for 2023, I will focus more on what I really love to do and invest more in activities that have real value for me.

My first goal is to read more books, the books I like to read can be broken down into four categories:

1) Health

2) Personal Development

3) Wealth

4) Relationships

When you read and keep learning, you can make an immediate impact on your life and the people around you. The secret of the truly wealthy and successful people in this world is the simplest of them all — pick up a book and spend a lot of time reading!

My second goal is to keep working on security certifications. If one piece of advice I can give you is to invest in CyberSecurity. You can find on my blog many articles that can help you to get started.

My third goal is to keep publishing and writing more articles on You are welcome to share your favorite topics in the comment section below.

My fourth goal is exchanging experiences that are important and learning from someone who (really) knows stuff is invaluable. My goal is to meet more people. If it was not for the IT Community I would not be where I am today. I firmly believe in the sharing of knowledge and helping others to succeed!

My fifth goal is to publish two new video courses, I am still working on the topic. You are welcome to share your ideas in the comment section below.

I am looking forward to starting to work on these goals and growing my knowledge. The learning journey is just getting started…

Whatever You Do – Never, Ever Give Up…

Final Thoughts

I see 2023 will be a great year for many people, if 2022 was the third year of the new way of working, 2023 promises to be the year of keeping strengthening the security posture and resiliency. I believe that the year 2023 is going to be an exciting journey!!!

Yet—being the extreme optimist and eternal possibilitarian I am — I sincerely believe that the volatility will soon or later morph into victory. And much better days will appear.

Aside from all of that, If you are interested in watching my video courses and/or reading my books, you can access them directly from here:

I am looking forward to the 2023 kick-off… There are a lot of interesting personal and family projects coming down the pipeline…

And with that, let me wrap up 2022 by wishing everyone a Happy New Year!!!
